Roadside Mitigation Phase 12
Another phase of ISLA roadside mitigation will commence this November after a recent funding from a BLM grant (see the Fire Protection tab on the ISLA website for all details). To date, Indian Springs has received $62,000 in grant funds from BLM to complete the various goals from the ISLA Wildfire Protection Plan. Some of these core goals have been: Lot address signage and 'No Through Street' signage for emergency personnel, roadside mitigation along ISLA community roadways for firebreak / emergency personnel access. As an aside, it requires roughly $5000 for every 3/4 mile of cutting and chipping roadside mitigation which would not be possible out of the ISLA annual budget without receipt of these grant funds. These efforts not only make our roads safer for our residents and emergency personnel, but also increase the overall aesthetic and land value for lot owners.9/6/2023: Many thanks to Darin Anderson for doing the ground work to secure this beneficial grant.

2023 Emergency Road Repair
2023 Planned Road Repair
The Emergency Road Repairs are completed (see the 'Emergency Road Repair' tab for details). The balance of that category has been transferred to the General Maintenance and Road Repair category (see the 9/9 Meeting Minutes on the 'Meeting Info' tab for details) for a large repair planned at the entrance of Bird Point just past the cattle guard tentatively around 10/29/23. This repair, due to consistent blockages on that culvert, will replace that culvert with either a 36" or 40" culvert based on availability and affordability. Stay tuned for more details. To ISLA Community

2024 Dues Increase Proposal Passes
As a reminder we did not have the necessary quorum of landowners at the annual meeting on June 10, 2023. Per our bylaws, a subsequent vote can be obtained as a valid vote if ½ of the landowners participate. With 157 dues paying lots, the necessary votes received must be at least 79.
We have received 89 votes (one per lot):
16 votes for NO Dues Increase with reduced services
73 votes for Dues increase to $185/lot/year starting in 2024 AND a $200/lot dues assessment to be billed
September 1, 2023 with a due date no later than September 1, 2024.
With the majority of votes (82%) being in favor of the dues increase AND a per lot assessment of $200, this option will go into effect.
We appreciate the participation of so many land owners, both in the town hall meetings, annual meeting and in the casting of votes.

Station #3 Update
Given the 2024 Dues Increase Proposal has passed, it included a $200 Special Assessment per lot for the completion of the Station 3 building. This Special Assessment invoices will be mailed starting in the 3rd Quarter of 2023 and will be due by the 3rd Quarter of 2024. As monies are received over the course of that year period, work will resume on the Station 3 building with an ultimate completion estimated by 4th quarter of 2024. At that time the ISLA Plow/Brush truck will move into the Station 3 building.
2023 has been an active season for our local bears. Residents are encouraged to be aware of recommendations by CPW (attached) for bear safety around your property. Residents are also requested to make every effort to "bear-proof" your dumpsters below the entrance of ISLA. Volunteer efforts to keep the trash picked up are always appreciated.
