Bear Safety

2023 has been an active season for our local bears. Residents are encouraged to be aware of recommendations by CPW (attached) for bear safety around your property. Residents are also requested to make every effort to "bear-proof" your dumpsters below the entrance of ISLA. Volunteer efforts to keep the trash picked up are always appreciated. Additional resources can be viewed at the following CPW link

Free Range Cattle

Cattle have been released on nearby BLM land. Please be aware that Colorado is a right-to-ranch state and a fence-out state. The outermost boundary of Indian Springs has no maintained fencing and is not required by Covenant to have or maintain one. If you don’t want cattle on your property, it is your responsibility to fence them out. Please be aware there are legalities to consider when dealing with livestock that aren’t yours, so plan your actions accordingly. There are some resources that you can use to make complaints concerning livestock. They are: Canon City Brand Inspector: Jason Burns 719-429-3147 Colorado Department of Agriculture, Brand Inspection Division 303.869.9160 www.ag.colorado.gov
